[ENDING AIDS] MAC AT ST JOHN AMBULANCE MALAYSIA “EQUALISE” AIDS AWARENESS SEMINAR

Saturday, February 25 2023: St John is a major international charity which provides first aid, healthcare and support services in 40 countries around the world. Together they make up the Order of St John, which is accredited by the United Nations. As a pioneer organisation to partner with the Malaysian AIDS Council since our inception, St John Ambulance Malaysia organised an “Equalise” awareness seminar for fellow cadets and volunteers.

Amongst those in attendance at the seminar included MAC Vice President, Dr Dinesh Mahalingam as well as MAC Hon Secretary Ms Elisha Kor Krishnan. Both exco members were also invited to speak at the seminar alongside other panel speakers including Dr Theyveeka Selvy Rajoo from St John Ambulance Malaysia and Dr Sheela Bai Pannir Selvam, Family Specialist from Cheras Baru Health Clinic.

St John prides itself on being an organisation that responds to the needs of the people it serves, which explains the huge diversity of activities from organisation to organisation such as home-based care training for people living with HIV and AIDS in Africa; kidney dialysis in Malaysia; disaster preparedness training in the Caribbean; cliff rescue in Malta; blood services in Papua New Guinea, to name just a few.

We are proud to work with local communities and St John Ambulance Malaysia to increase the availability of information on HIV, and improve the reach and quality of lives – a quest for civil society to rediscover and reimagine a better future for all. Together we end AIDS by 2030.
